Allie Felix – Embarc Collective

Describe your relevant work history, awards, and accomplishments in 300 words or less.

Allie Felix is the Director of Programming & Partnerships at Embarc Collective in Tampa Bay, FL. Previously, Allie led community at Work-Bench, an enterprise technology venture fund and business development at 37 Angels, a women’s angel investing network in NYC. Prior to that, Allie managed marketing and partnerships for Tim Draper’s pre-accelerator program, Draper University. Allie is a graduate of Smith College previously served on the Smith College Business Network Advisory Board. She is a Tampa, FL native.

What do you love about the Tampa Bay area?

I love the emphasis on local here. Every day can easily be spent supporting locally-owned businesses and makers through grabbing a morning coffee at Foundation Coffee Co, grabbing lunch at LS Organics, shopping the goods at Oxford Exchange, and hitting up Bella Prana for evening yoga.

What are some of your favorite things to do around town when you aren’t working?

Stroll up the Riverwalk to grab a coffee at Armature Works, cheer on my team at a Lightning Game, sweat it out at Orange Theory Fitness, or stop by a local market.

How do you give your time back in the community?

As a community builder, my day-to-day is spent trying to connect the dots for people. Helping others through a challenge or making a curated introduction is what makes me tick. Recently boomeranging back to the Tampa Bay area, I am thrilled to be a part of the Emerging Technology Leaders organization as a way to give back to the community through our connecting objectives.

Tell us about the tech project that you are most proud of.

My newest role at Embarc Collective – a new startup collaborative in downtown Tampa. Through Embarc Collective, we will help make Tampa Bay a prime destination for diverse startup talent to make an impact, professionally and personally. As we gear up to launch in Q1 of 2019, my days are spent identifying founders in our region and any gaps to better serve them, building events, content, and relationships to help them grow, and sharing their stories through everyday conversations and on our brand’s social channels. I can’t wait!
